Good afternoon future alchemists. Let's talk in one of the most important issues of alchemy its base and study sources. The Hermetic

Hermes Trismegistus

The deity Hermes Trismegistus come from the introduction of Toth god in Greek religion. Toth is an Egyptian god who symbolizes the organized logic of the universe. It is related to lunar cycles in which phases expresses the harmony of the universe. And as God's word and wisdom was naturally identified with Hermes. As the god of wisdom Thoth was assigned as writer of a number of Egyptian sacred texts which describe the secrets of the universe. The ancient Hermetic texts can also be considered teaching retainers and an initiation based on the ancient Egyptian religion.

Like all Egyptian gods Thoth was initially worshiped locally, but then worship him spread throughout Egypt. One of the places of worship to Toth was the Great Hermópolis. With the establishment of the Ptolemaic dynasty that region Greeks also immigrated to the holy city of Toth. This immigration Greek comes to identification with Hermes Toth.

Hermetic written: These writings contain the theoretical and philosophical aspects of Hermeticism on his theosophical aspect. Byzantine is marked by another collection of Hermetic works, which are also related to Hermes Trismegistus, and contain a popular Hermetic tradition which is essentially composed of writings related to astrology, magic and alchemy. This popular version is support or based on the Hermetic dialogues, despite his distance themselves from magic.

In addition to the Emerald Tablet of Hermes leaves a major legacy for the Alchemists that goes into one of his philosophical knowledge works for all who follow the ancient art: Kybalion.

There are seven main hermetic laws, they are based on the principles included in the book "The Kybalion" that meets the basic teachings of the Law which governs all manifested things. The Kybalion would be a Greek word derived from the same root as the word Kabbalah, which in Hebrew means "reception". The book describes the following Hermetic laws:

Law of mentalism: "The All is Mind; the Universe is mental."
Law of Correspondence, "That which is below is like what is above, what is above is like what is below."
Law of Vibration: "Nothing rests, everything moves, everything vibrates."
Law of Polarity: ".... Everything is dual, everything has two poles, everything has its opposite The like and unlike are the same Extremes meet All truths are half-truths, all paradoxes may be reconcilable" .
Law of Rhythm: "Everything has ebb and flow, everything has its tides, all up and down, the rhythm compensates."
Gender Law: "Gender is in everything: everything has its Masculine and Feminine principles, gender manifests in all creation plans."
Law of Cause and Effect "Every cause has its effect, every effect has its cause, there are many planes of causation but nothing escapes the Law.

In the next post I will be explaining every law and its applications.

I hope you liked, leave your comments or questions and to subject suggestion to explain'll be glad to answer.
